As 2016 comes to a close, we reflect upon our new favorite cameras, gadgets, apps, and beyond. Having iPads has been a game-changer in our classrooms, serving as a one-stop shop for students to not only capture their images, but has also become a place for them to transform, remix, and reimagine their creations. We cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store- as we embrace technology, we are excited to grow with the times, create meaning in the present, and build leaders for the future. The reality is that we live in a time where there is an ever increasing digital divide, and an unparalleled demand for youth to not only learn how to critically examine media, but also to learn the skill set needed to be producers of media.
We seek to close this divide, and meet this need by bringing technology, media, and arts education to all youth – especially those who need it the most. That is why we seek to expand our programs into more Title 1 schools, putting cameras in the hands of more underserved youth.
