Teen & Transitional Age Youth Programs

In partnership with the community, local organizations, and schools, Outside The Lens provides specialized programming for teens and Transitional Age Youth (TAY) (18-25 years old).

Outside The Lens’ Teen programs emphasize media arts skill development, media literacy, social-emotional development, intergenerational community connections, and civic engagement.

By providing hands-on media arts experiences, our programs aim to cultivate creative pathways for teens and transitional age youth. Outside The Lens recognizes and cultivates the existing creative potential and community-focused drive in teens. We provide opportunities and resources that encourage them to share their voice and contribute to meaningful change within their communities.

Through partnerships with schools and school districts, our team elevates students’ learning experiences by addressing the gap in arts education.

Outside The Lens Media Educators collaborate with classroom teachers to design projects that seamlessly integrate media arts into core curriculum (Math, Science, Social Sciences, English Language Arts) for high school and college students.

These projects not only deepen students’ understanding of core content but also cultivate valuable media arts skills, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.

Outside The Lens partners with the community and local organizations to offer programs for teens outside of school hours through workshop series.

OTL Media Educators co-develop projects and programs with teens that reflect topics relevant to their lives.
