Outside The Lens Launches New Brand Identity and Website

SAN DIEGO, California. January 14, 2025 – Outside The Lens (OTL), a San Diego nonprofit empowering youth through media arts education programs for over 20 years, reveals its new brand identity and website, www.outsidethelens.org, marking a bold beginning to 2025. This strategic rebrand demonstrates the organization’s commitment to design excellence and storytelling, while deepening connections between the next generation of changemakers and San Diego’s dynamic creative community.

“This initiative advances Outside The Lens’ evolution and deepens our community impact,” says Executive Director, Sarah Beckman. “Guided by strategic planning and youth voices, our new brand identity and digital presence embody the innovation, agility, and sense of belonging that define OTL. This reinvention strengthens our position as a visionary force in San Diego, empowering young creators who are shaping the future of visual storytelling.”

The rebrand was developed in partnership with San Diego-based creative agency Industry of Hues™ (IOH), known for its dynamic work with national and local brands. OTL’s visual identity now reflects the organization’s  youthful, daring energy. Alexis Campanis and Jeff St. John, Principals and Designers at IOH explain their approach, “We crafted this identity and its core assets to serve as a smart, solid foundation that mirrors the heart of the organization, setting the stage for endless growth and creative possibilities. OTL’s look is fresh, bold, and built to flex—transformative, modular, and packed with energy.”

Alongside the rebrand, OTL launched its upgraded website designed by Noble Intent Studio. The site ensures ADA compliance and features custom tools tailored to meet the needs of OTL’s diverse community.

Angela and Cris Noble, founders of Noble Intent Studio, describe their process in leading this project, “We ensured that the new website is visually engaging as well as accessible and inclusive for all users, so Outside The Lens can better communicate the impactful work they do to serve youth in San Diego.”

This collaborative effort was informed by feedback sessions with teens in OTL programs, underscoring the organization’s dedication to centering youth voices in every aspect of its work. Outside The Lens will celebrate these exciting changes at a free public event on January 30 from 5-7 PM. For more information on how to reserve your spot visit bit.ly/IgniteOTL.
