Outside The Lens convoca a todos los jóvenes fotógrafos, artistas y creadores de medios a participar en Expresarse, nuestra segunda exposición anual de arte con jurado que celebra las voces y las historias de jóvenes artistas locales. En OTL, creemos en el poder de las voces de los jóvenes para transformar las narrativas y generar un cambio significativo en nuestra comunidad. Accepting submissions Feb 16th – March 27th.

OTL welcomes submissions from youth aged 8-25 in the categories of photography, mixed media, and digital illustration that explore this year’s theme of “WONDER.” Artists are encouraged to delve into their interpretation of the theme while considering the dynamic concepts of reinvention, transformation, and personal or collective growth. The deadline to submit is March 27th, 2026, at 11:59 PM (PST).

All submitted artwork will be featured in a public exhibition May 15th at MCASD. Local creatives, arts advocates, and youth artists and their family and friends, will gather at The Wonder Lab, Outside The Lens’ media lab in the East Village to connect, see all of the wonderful artwork, and celebrate youth voices May 16th!

  • Submit artwork that is sized 8×12, 12×8, or 10×10 at 300 dpi.
  • All artwork must be in a DIGITAL format. Files must be PNG or JPEG.

1. OTL no imprimirá ningún diseño que contenga contenido ofensivo o discriminatorio.

2. Las obras de arte deben tener un tamaño de 8 x 12 o 10 x 10 a 300 ppp. Aceptamos archivos PNG o JPEG.

3. Submissions must relate to the exhibition theme of WONDER (creative interpretations are welcomed!)

4. OTL se reserva el derecho de reclasificar las obras de arte que se envíen en una categoría incorrecta. Por ejemplo, si una fotografía contiene elementos ilustrativos y se clasifica en “Fotografía”, la reclasificaremos en “Técnica mixta”.

5. Acepto presentar un máximo de una obra por categoría.

6. Confirmo que he obtenido permiso para enviar y publicar las fotos de cualquier persona reconocible que aparezca en mi obra de arte. 

7. Al enviar mi obra, otorgo a OTL y a sus representantes una licencia para utilizar mi obra y mis imágenes personales (incluido mi nombre y mi edad) en relación con la exposición y sus fines, incluyendo, sin limitación, el derecho a copiar, distribuir, transmitir, exhibir públicamente, reproducir, editar, traducir y reformatear la obra, así como a utilizarla en nuestras instalaciones, en los sitios de nuestros socios, en nuestro sitio web, en las redes sociales y en materiales promocionales. 

8. Entiendo que OTL no me proporcionará ninguna compensación económica por mi envío.

10. All artworks that meet the above criteria will be showcased at the Voice Out Youth Media Arts Exhibition. The exhibition will be held at OTL’s The Wonder Lab in the East Village on May 16th from 4-7 pm, where awards will be given for the top artworks in each category. All artworks will be displayed in an online photo gallery and in an exhibition catalog.
